GAZ Group edges out Hitachi in CIS Excavator Sales

The Gaz Group, a Construction Equipment manufacturer Headquartered in Russia and who recently cracked the top 50 Construction Equipment Producers in the world, ranking in at 47th (International Construction Magazine/April 2009) has narrowly edged out Hitachi on its home turf for 2008 Retail Sales of Excavators in the CIS Region.

Gaz, who owns the TVEKS and Kovrovets brands edged out Hitachi for 2008 excavator sales market share by 0.10 % (this includes Mini, Crawler & Wheeled combined)in the CIS region. TVEKS was led by two popular Wheeled Excavator models (EK-12 & EK-14) which make up a strong portion of their sales, while Hitachi was led by a solid selection of Crawler Excavator models.
